Carlos Gamez De Francisco | Featured Artist

Carlos Gamez de Francisco was born in post-revolutionary Cuba in 1987, to a Cuban-Spanish mother and a Cuban-American father. He grew up in Cuba and was educated in an academic style heavily influenced by the Russian Academy. At age five, he determined, with absolute certainty, that he would be an artist. By the time he was fifteen, Gamez de Francisco was diligently painting 8 hours a day, every day. Today, he often spends 15 hours a day painting and feels “very blessed to do what I love.”

Brenda Zappitell | Brenda Zappitell

"I look everywhere to find my imagery and am entranced by nature, in particular the sky. My mark-making, though serendipitous, emanates from these many visual impressions. I want the viewer to believe that my vision expands beyond the work itself to a universe I have created. When my work takes off, it seems to have a life of its own: an inner life that reflects something of my inner life. These fleeting “glimpses” are what I offer to those who encounter my paintings, and who are drawn to their multiplying energies."

Doug Freed | Featured Artist

For nearly twenty years, Doug Freed made non-objective grid structured paintings. Freed started to see references to landscape in these works. He hasa literalized those references by painting oil landscape vistas of horizons, clouds and bodies of water. These paintings consist of two or more vertical panels. Usually one panel is landscape imagery. The adjacent panels are often atmospheric voids with vestiges of recognizable landscapes.
